Janos Kanyo
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Research interests:
Processing of high-temperature ceramics and alloys
Education:
B.S. Materials Science and Engineering, University of Connecticut, 2019
Personal Bio:
Janos first joined Dr. Schaffoener’s research group in 2018 as a senior undergraduate Materials Science and Engineering student. His experience in the laboratory shaped his interest in processing of high-temperature materials and corrosion mechanisms at elevated temperatures. Past research has revolved around spallation of thermal barrier coatings in high-temperature as well as high-temperature processing for defense applications. Janos’ time with Dr. Schaffoener helped propel him into the PhD program at UConn, where he will continue to work on high-temperature materials. He is excited for the road ahead and the creative challenge of developing novel solutions in the field of materials processing.
