About Stefan’s Lab

Welcome to Dr. Stefan Schafföner’s laboratory at the Department of Materials Science and at the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Connecticut! Our research focuses on the processing, characterization and application of ceramics, composites, and high temperature materials. Emphasis is placed on ceramics and processes under extreme thermal, thermomechanical, and corrosive conditions for metallurgical, energy and construction applications. We are always looking for collaboration and industry partners as well as for motivated students who want to join our lab, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.
